I’ve grown up feeling no sense of permanency in my life. No permanent home, no permanent safe net that I could fall into and wrap myself around like I could a blanket. I grew up realizing and knowing and even experiencing the feelings of knowing that a person could walk right into your life, plant the most beautiful garden in the very tip of your soul and then be just as quick to step all over it and leave it to wilt the next day.

When we think about the people we’re going to spend the rest of our lives with, who will have the most importance in our lives, it seems impossible to think that they could be living miles away from us. It seems impossible that you can bond with someone through Skype video calls and texting. Adults engrave in the minds of the youth at such a young age that the people we meet over the internet have no use to us other than to destroy it.
